Parkland is a community with deep roots and genuine character. Unlike many of the planned suburban developments that have sprung up throughout Pierce County in recent decades, Parkland evolved organically around Pacific Lutheran University, the Pacific Avenue commercial corridor, and the residential neighborhoods that spread outward from these anchors. This organic development gives Parkland a sense of authenticity and community identity that newer areas often lack. Bernardone Auto Detailing appreciates this character and serves Parkland with the same genuine, unpretentious approach that defines the community itself.
Accessibility and Value
We believe professional detailing should be accessible to everyone, not just luxury vehicle owners. Parkland is a community of working families, students, educators, and small business owners — people who rely on their vehicles daily and deserve to have those vehicles properly cared for without paying luxury-district prices. Our service packages are structured to deliver real value at every price point, with transparent pricing and no hidden fees.
For PLU students and faculty who may be detailing a vehicle for the first time, we take the time to explain our process, discuss what each service includes, and recommend the most appropriate package based on your vehicle's actual condition and your budget. There is no upselling pressure — just honest assessment and clear communication.
The Pacific Avenue Corridor
Pacific Avenue is the lifeblood of Parkland, connecting the community to Tacoma to the north and Spanaway to the south. This busy corridor carries thousands of vehicles daily, generating a constant stream of brake dust, exhaust particulate, and road debris that settles on vehicles parked or driven along its length. The commercial establishments along Pacific Avenue — gas stations, auto shops, restaurants — also contribute airborne contaminants that accumulate on nearby vehicles.
Vehicles regularly driven or parked along Pacific Avenue develop a distinctive contamination pattern: heavier brake dust and road film on lower panels and wheels, exhaust soot concentrated on rear surfaces, and a general haze across all horizontal surfaces from airborne particulate. Our exterior detailing process specifically targets these contamination zones, using iron-dissolving chemicals on wheels and lower panels and dedicated degreasing steps for exhaust-affected areas.
PLU Campus and Student Vehicle Care
Pacific Lutheran University brings a significant student and faculty population to Parkland, many of whom are living away from home for the first time and maintaining vehicles independently. Student vehicles often endure extended periods without professional care — a semester or more of accumulated contamination, fast-food interior messes, and the general neglect that comes from a busy academic schedule. Our back-to-school and end-of-year detail packages are designed for this exact scenario, providing a comprehensive reset that transforms a semester-weary vehicle into something clean, fresh, and ready for the next chapter.
For faculty and staff who live in the Parkland area, our mobile service offers a convenient way to maintain vehicle appearance without sacrificing precious free time. We can detail at your residence or, with campus approval, at designated campus parking areas. The flexibility of our scheduling accommodates the unique rhythms of academic life.
Residential Parkland: Established Trees, Established Challenges
The residential streets of Parkland are characterized by mature tree cover — decades-old evergreens and deciduous trees that create a canopy effect over parked vehicles. This mature canopy produces heavy organic contamination: sap, pollen, bird droppings, leaf tannins, and the fine needles from aging conifers. Vehicles parked on the street or in uncovered driveways absorb this contamination daily, and without regular professional removal, it accumulates into layers that can permanently damage paint.
Our clay bar treatment is essential for Parkland vehicles, as it safely extracts the embedded organic material that washing alone cannot remove. We recommend clay bar treatment at least twice per year for vehicles with heavy tree exposure, combined with a protective sealant or ceramic coating that reduces the bond strength of future deposits.
Dependable Service for a Dependable Community
Parkland residents value reliability. They want service providers who show up when promised, do what they said they would do, and charge what they quoted. Bernardone Auto Detailing operates on exactly these principles. We confirm appointments in advance, arrive on time, complete the agreed-upon services, and invoice the quoted price. There are no surprises, no last-minute additions, and no corners cut. This straightforward approach has earned us a loyal following in Parkland — clients who return season after season and recommend us to their neighbors, friends, and coworkers without hesitation.
